EP Review: iATLAS – Beyond the New Horizon (Self Released)

UK alternative/industrial/groove trio iATLAS will release their debut EP, ‘Beyond the New Horizon’, on September 11th, 2026.

I like what iATLAS are doing here. Sounding quite original, contemporary, and very dynamic across five varied efforts. Blending alternative rock and metal with groove and layering in elements of industrial, noise, and more. The result is raw, but interesting and very listenable.

Beginning in energetic and anthemic fashion, Freak the Trance is a floor filler with just a touch of appealing weirdness about it. Following that, it’s all about head banging inducing rock groove with Touch the Sky. One of several examples of how iATLAS’ contemporary sound will have widespread appeal.

Rather Me Than You takes a more laidback approach, showcasing expressive melody in a very creative way. My personal favourite track on the EP. Although I can’t deny that the big hitter that is 3iATLAS isn’t a delight too. Proving to be a catchy number with indie rock bounce and groove.

Finally, it’s No Time to wrap things up, and it is a great example of the term ‘go big and go home’. iATLAS sound so alive here, and that vitality is reflected in a track that really gets stuck in the head for ages afterwards.

It’s a head turning debut, offering up unique ideas within the alternative scene that are delivered in convincing fashion.
