Ten Bands That Are Unmissable At Stoomfest 2026

Stoomfest has quickly become a premier event, and London’s home of stoner, doom and heavy psych music. Returning for its latest iteration from the 25th to the 27th of September, it’s a carefully curated weekend of heavy music within the walls of The Garage (Highbury).

Featuring 20 bands across the weekend, we are spoilt for choice, and with no clashes at all, you can see every single band. Maybe though, you are not too familiar with some of the bands playing, so you are not sure who you should be checking out. This is where we come in. Here are ten bands playing Stoomfest that we believe are unmissable.

Let’s start with Friday, the day that has Mount Hush headlining. Based out of Germany, the quintet can be best summed up as a heavy psychedelic blues band with atmospheric soundscapes. Their set promises to be incredibly immersive.

Also on Friday, you’ll find Froglord, the amphibious sludge, groove, and psychedelic doom band. Emerging from deep within the mystic swamps of Bristol, they’re not just a sonic force, but a sight to behold as well.

Finally for Friday, it’s Orbiter and if there’s one band who will leave your ears ringing, it’s this Helsinki based heavy psych doom band.

Over to Saturday now, where local lads Okay You Win will bring the energy through a brash and mix of vibrant desert rock, heavy psych, grunge and stoner rock. Whereas a maddening, but thrilling, blend of hazy psychedelia, stoner riffs, and progressive groove will be on display, courtesy of the brilliant Khan. They, alongside the heavy head banging inducing rock sound of Belfast’s Slomatics, are likely to be some of the bands packing out the venue.

Later in the day the funky groove and infectious psychedelic rock sound of Savanah will be quite special. Before headliners, Colour Haze, wraps up a spectacular day of music with a potent showcase of high-powered stoner and psychedelic rock.

Sunday is not short of a few great bands either, but as we only have two spaces left for this top ten, we must go with Dunes and School Disco. Both offer different kinds of delights, while comfortably sitting in the Stoomfest world. The former delivering a memorable and style hooky stoner rock and alt-rock, whereas the latter offers up a unique blend of prog, psychedelic rock and krautrock.
