Interview: Getting to Know iAtlas

Emerging South Coast UK trio iATLAS will release their dynamic debut EP, ‘Beyond The New Horizon’, on Friday 11th September, alongside the release of their striking new single and video, 3iAtlas, which is out now. In this interview, we get to know them a little better.

1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.

The band consists of three, brought together from various platforms by Ondy who carefully selected the best and most creative musicians to eventually form iAtlas.

2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?

Elements of industrial grittiness at its core with smatterings of 70s rock & 80s pop dissected by gothic horror realism.

3. What’s currently keeping you busy? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?

iAtlas has recently landed and it will become a beast given time. Current projects are an EP to be released this September and a 2nd new video release for Freak The Trance, following on from our debut single 3IATLAS.

4. What is about this current period that is particularly exciting for you?

Communicating via song, relating to current affairs, surviving 2026, releasing videos as an art form. All of this fulfils the creativeness that we three of differing backgrounds can aspire by taming the elementals that has brought us to Earth broadening the dynamic and musical spectrum offered in song, which we all find excites us.

5. Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you.

The most satisfying element of the band is patience and allowing each one of the three of us a freedom and outlet for instinctive expression. This process has not been tainted by ego, and is probably because we play instruments that do not cross into each other’s territory. So being a threesome works well.

6. Making music and being creative can be a very positive experience and can be very good for the mind. In what way has making music had a positive impact on your mental health?

Good question; we are not big enough for critics to derail iAtlas yet. At present feedback is positive and validates what we have created and provides a positive healthy mind space, venting by reflecting the frustration of this civilisation’s current affairs.

7. It can also be incredibly challenging, more so in the modern times. What have been some challenging aspects of making music and how have you overcome them?

Avoiding the pit of apathy by dealing with the knockbacks from people and the industry through this journey without us falling is the challenge. To overcome it we strive to maintain a belief in the knowledge that iAtlas music is worth the effort that acts as the driving force.

8. How do you handle the online aspects of being in a band? Having to put out content constantly, promoting across several different social media platforms, and having your success measured in likes and follows?

Ondy has and continues to play a crucial promotion role for the band. He has great passion and understanding of the industry. The latest video recently hit 2.4k watchers in two weeks and we consider this reflects how the media can be influenced by pumping the iAtlas at them across multiple media platforms. We do hope for exponential growth in the future by the efforts being made today.

9. How do you make this part of things enjoyable, and fulfilling, for yourself?

We have busy day jobs, Marcus works away up in the north of England most weekdays. iAtlas has had to adapt to these circumstances and learnt to maximise creativity by remote working. Apart from this and exploring the industry, seeing what works and that which doesn’t, adds to the fun aspect whilst keeping our feet firmly grounded.

10. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support you?

iAtlas asks the listeners to find the groove and connect with the sentiment of each song to maximise the emotional impact of what it is trying to impart.

11. Outside of music, what do you like to do to relax?

Swim wild, gym, travel and learning more about the local history of England and adjacent continents
