EP Review: All Out Of Bubblegum – Slight Possibility Of Overload (Self Released)

After 3 years of building their sound, sharpening their identity, and establishing themselves on the Manchester underground scene, All Out of Bubblegum is closing the first chapter of their journey with the release of ‘Slight Possibility of Overload’: a six-track EP that brings together the songs that introduced the band, alongside two brand-new additions.

They have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass… and they’re all out of bubblegum.

Don’t take All Out of Bubblegum too seriously, but equally, underestimate them at your peril. They’re having fun, but when it’s time to deliver bite, they have a sharp one. Blending alternative and industrial rock to create a weird and wonderful anthemic sound.

The EP comes with six tracks, one of which is an acoustic version of the banging In Hollywood, and each showcases a different, unique aspect of All Out of Bubblegum. From the fun factor of their reimagining of The Power of Love, to the aforementioned In Hollywood and its catchy chorus, to the riffy self-titled track, the punchy Venomous, and the lively Skinned Alive, it’s a cool EP that showcases the breadth of their creativity.

I like it, and reckon the best is yet to come.
