Album Review: Werewolves – You’re Weak And You Know You’re Weak (Back On Black)
Is it really that time of the year again? Werewolves continue their mission to release ten albums in ten years or commit group suicide if they fail. We’re at year seven, and the extreme metal band are back with ‘You’re Weak and You Know You’re Weak’. Out on October 9th, 2026, via Back on Black.

In a previous album review I said that one of the more impressive things about this insane Werewolves output is that they’re not half-arsing it. They they’re throwing their all into each album, delivering a constant stream of brutish and sickening death, injecting rivets of groove, black, thrash, and more when needed, and doing it all with their tongues jammed firmly in their cheeks. Don’t take Werewolves too seriously but be aware that they make music that will fuck you up.
I mention this because it continues to be true as we reach album number seven.
Let’s be honest, would any of us really be surprised if Werewolves were going through the motions at this stage? Very few bands would be able to stay creative under this kind of pressure, but Werewolves make it seem easy. Even if there are a couple of tracks on this album that are so-so.
They’re not important though, what is important are the ones that absolutely slay, and there are plenty of them.
Tracks that deliver nothing more than addictive head banging and gurn inducing death metal intensity. Tracks like Uroboric Fuckwit, Burn It to the Ground, and the title effort. Tracks that deliver big riffs and twisted groove like Tank Habit, crunchy drum driven efforts like So Say All of Us, or progressively tinged chaos mongers like The Song of Stupid Men.
Then there is something like We March. One of those glorious examples of Werewolves changing up the formula so significantly, you can’t help but marvel at what you’re hearing. Filled with moody power, it is a dark and dangerous sounding track with varied tempos that keep you on your toes. It’s very cool.
I’d say that’s seven for seven. Werewolves’ nasty, violent, and cruel sound is still very effective.
