Album Review: To the Grave – Liberation Front (BLKIIBLK)

It is time to take a beating, To the Grave style, as the world’s preeminent vegan deathcore band return with ‘Liberation Front’. A ten-track blast of extreme noise as only this band is capable of, it will be released on October 2nd, 2026, via BLKIIBLK.

As extreme as ever, To the Grave are back and in a vitriolic mood. Delivering a furious and focused blast of deathcore that has bounce and groove but the kind that comes with a price. A price that must be paid in blood, sweat, and tears. All of which is guaranteed ten times over, thanks to the level that To the Grave go at here.

Sound familiar? Maybe, but there’s more and it comes from the focus that To the Grave have here. Not just being savage in sound but being savage in message. To the Grave do not care if you agree with them, this a call to activism regardless. A roaring and furious call that rages against the undeniable horrors of animal cruelty and environmental destruction. There are no hardcore shifts here, this is deathcore through and through, and it’s some of the most potent stuff heard all year.

Horror laden and hellacious sounding, Meat the Humans is a crushing opener and sets the bloody and gory scene. Your mileage for this kind of noise will be decided by how much you enjoy this opener. Personally, I think it’s a fucking banger, but I’m an absolute glutton for this kind of viciousness. Which is why I can only sit and marvel at the likes of Nail Mary, Torture Porn, Eyestalk Ablations, and Life Among the Septics. The first half of the album is insane.

The second half? It’s all puppy dogs and roses.

Is it fuck. It’s five more disembowelling efforts that come with the strength to rip limbs from bodies, to tear through flesh and muscle, to break bones, and grind souls into nothing. Calf Slicer, Limb From Lamb, You Know the Drill, Terrorfire, and The World Is a Slaughterhouse. Five of the nastiest and cruellest sounding deathcore songs heard this year (and maybe even longer).

To the Grave will leave you feeling like you’ve been through a war, but this is an album that encourages you to get back up and continue to fight even when the odds seem impossible. I love it because it is so sharp and clear, and I think you will too, provided you have a taste for the extreme.
