EP Review: Suffer – Soul From Flesh (Arson Theory)

Wolverhampton’s groove-laden slamming deathcore heavyweights, Suffer, will release their eagerly awaited new EP, ‘Soul from Flesh’, on 7th August 2026 through Arson Theory.

A revitalised line-up has brought a new sense of savagery to Suffer, and this five-track EP showcases their modern, blunt, brutal, and blood-curdling deathcore sound with mighty aplomb. Four tracks, plus an intro, that pulverises the mind and breaks the spirit through a cacophony of violent and angry sounding metal.

Following III, a punchy and dramatic intro, Suffer come screaming out of the gates with Pendulum of Vengeance, a no-nonsense slab of feverish sounding deathcore. There’s groove, but it’s warped by Suffer’s desire to beat the listener into the ground. Something that continues into the furiously heavy and fiery Self Immolation, and the wild title track, which has dynamic layers of extreme metal harmony. They really have pushed their creative skills to a whole new level.

No further proof needed of that statement then Desolated Dreams, the finale of the EP. As here, Suffer really lean into the more epic side of their sound, experimenting with cinematic elements, and pushing their intensity to its limits. It’s a beast of a track, but if blood and guts is what you want, you won’t be left disappointed by the entire EP.
