Live Review: Death Dominion Europe 2026 – Carnifex, Despised Icon, and Suffocation at Electric Brixton, London (03/11/26)

One of the year’s most hotly anticipated heavy tours, the Death Dominion Europe 2026 tour sees the trio of Carnifex, Despised Icon, and Suffocation on a huge jaunt around Europe and the UK. A tour that sees the trio rotate as headliners every single night. It’s a cool idea, and I’ve never seen it done with three bands before, which does mean you have to get down early or risk missing out.

Case in point, at Electric Brixton (I do love this venue), and following a game opening set by slam band, .357 Homicide, Carnifex took to the stage at 7:50pm.

Their set was the shorter set of the three, but that didn’t stop them throwing their all into it and creating the kind of carnage you expect from a band with their reputation. It’s a set buoyed by the upcoming release of their brand-new album, ‘More than Misery’, and even though they only play a handful of tracks from it (the title track and Roses & Rotting Corpses), you can already tell that it’s going to be a big deal for the band.

Carnifex have focused and homed in on what works and it pays off in seriously head banging style.

Around those tracks, we got a ‘best of’, deathcore style. With the likes of Slit Wrist Savior, Lie to My Face, Hell Chose Me, and Drown Me in Blood causing absolute carnage in the pit. I’m genuinely surprised that no one got hurt considering how intense it got at times.

I thought they were awesome, but it is a night of awesome bands as Suffocation were up next, delivering an on-brand, focused slab of old-school death metal. There are very little frills to their set, which I was perfectly fine with as that is a big part of their appeal, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t countless times were things spilt over in chaos, especially as just like with Carnifex, it’s a career-spanning set.

I really enjoyed them, even if I did find there was some song bleed here and there, and by the end, I was well and truly desensitised.

Thankfully, Despised Icon arrived and absolutely rocked the stage, knocking me out of my stupor, and ensuring I left the venue with a big, stupid smile on my face. I thought they were awesome, and having never seen them live before, I thought the dual vocals absolutely slayed in this environment. If anyone was flagging at this point of the show, you’d never have known it as the mass of people gathered in the pit ended up looking like some sort of Resident Evil style mutant. All limbs, howls, sweat, and (probably), a bit of blood.

It’s hard to pick a favourite band, as each brought something colourful to the show, but Despised Icon might just have edged it in the end. If you can get t0 any of the dates on this tour, you should, just make sure your neck muscles are nicely warmed up beforehand.
