Single Slam: Klone, Fusion Bomb, Reverie, and Seven Blood!
Today’s single slam features Klone, Fusion Bomb, Reverie, and Seven Blood. You can read our thoughts about the latest singles from these bands below.
Klone – Unchained
More than twenty-five years after their beginnings in Poitiers, France, progressive metal band Klone announce ‘The Moon Is Witness’, their upcoming album set for release on March 12, 2027, via V2 Records. The album’s first single, Unchained’, is out now.
Says Yann Ligner (vocals/lyrics):
Both fierce and immersive, powerful and unifying, Unchained delivers raw, incisive energy driven by a cathartic chorus. Through organic and animalistic imagery, the lyrics explore the journey from captivity to complete liberation. A quest for emancipation that is both personal and collective.
A creative talent like few others, Klone have made it to such an immense milestone by both doing exactly what they want, but also giving progressive metal fans exactly what they want too. Detailed, clever, dramatic, intense, dreamy, etc. You’ll not be short of words to describe this measured and evolved effort. One with bundles of majestic harmony that effortlessly takes up residence in the mind. It is delightful.
Fusion Bomb – Unison
Fusion Bomb, the thrash band from Luxembourg, return after a three-year hiatus with a new single called ‘Unison’ and a new bass guitarist, Serg MP (Bestial Invasion, Cosmic Jaguar, Tria Prima and Violent Omen).
Fusion Bomb offer up a crunching blast of thrash that comes with some cool twists to the formula. Namely driving anthemic power that feels fresh and modern but also comes rooted in the old-school form. Big riffs, screaming solos, and shouted gang vocals that you might expect to hear in a hardcore punk song. It’s very cool.
Reverie – Daughter
Reverie, an independent Christian metalcore/post-hardcore band from Findlay, Ohio, recently released the single ‘Daughter’. It comes from their new album ‘Sleep//Wake’, out now.
A passionate showcase of modern post-hardcore with a metallised twist, Reverie deliver a banger one. One with some real heavy instrumental punch, some impressively roared vocals, and a midpoint tone switch that adds a whole new dimension to things. A band well worth paying more attention to.
Seven Blood – Kill Switch
Germany-based alternative metal band Seven Blood have shared their brand-new single ‘Kill Switch’. The track tackles crucial themes such as female independence, empowerment, mental health, and the raw rage following a toxic breakup.
Explains lead singer Azaria Nasiri:
‘Kill Switch’ was born out of pure exhaustion from shrinking myself to make others comfortable. To anyone who’s ever been told they take up too much space: this is your anthem. There is no kill switch anymore. It’s our turn now.
A talented band growing in confidence and producing more layered music as they enter a more evolved state of mind. This new single is a heavy one, albeit one that comes with huge sounding harmonies, head banging inducing energy, and a chorus that is brilliantly infectious. I love it.
