Single Slam: Survivalist, Archers, ISVIDD, and Carnifex!

Today’s single slam features Survivalist, Archers, ISVIDD, and Carnifex. You can read our thoughts about the latest singles from these bands below.

Survivalist – Infinity

Irish metal crossover outfit Survivalist confront grief head on with ‘Infinity’, the first single from their forthcoming EP ‘Four Nails’, due for release on 13th November via Seek and Strike. Drawing on deeply personal experiences of cancer, loss and recovery the track channels pain into something powerful, a reminder that even in our darkest moments, hope remains.

Commenting on the single, Survivalist said:

‘Infinity’ explores the anger and grief surrounding cancer, drawing from guitarist Nick’s brother’s battle and recovery, and my own experience having lost a brother to cancer. Ultimately, it’s a message of hope, resilience and reminding people that there is always light beyond the darkest moments.

Survivalist dig deep here and unleash a cacophony of concentrated heaviness that showcases their fury and frustration at such a wicked disease. Their passion is contagious and few who hear the track won’t be compelled to join them in letting off some steam. It’s crunchy, aggressive, and intense, but with a lot of feeling.

Archers – Burning Low

Alternative rock band, Archers will release their brand-new album ‘I Was Here, I Can Prove It’, out 26th February 2027 via Fearless Records. The band have shared the single and video ‘Burning Low’.

A highly rated name in the alternative rock world already, Archers’ put an emphatic stamp on that with a powerhouse track. One that is highly anthemic, delivers raw emotion, and is hugely accessible. Archers are adept at making lovable tunes and this new effort doesn’t change that.

ISVIDD – By the Other Side of Midnight

ISVIDD, the atmospheric/melodic black metal studio project from Stockholm, has released the single ‘By the Other Side of Midnight’.

A potent slice of blackened fire and dramatic icy atmosphere, ISVIDD capture the imagination with ease here. Delivering a dark, melodic, elaborate and extravagant slice of heaviness that is impressively layered. A track that gets better and better with multiple listens.

Carnifex – Licking Love from A Knife

Southern California deathcore titans Carnifex have released their new single, ‘Licking Love from A Knife’. The track is the latest to be taken from the band’s forthcoming album, ‘More Than Misery’, arriving 6th November via Sumerian Records.

‘Licking Love from A Knife’ places one of the album’s most personal subjects at its center: surviving a toxic relationship.

Carnifex at their heaviest and wildest sounding, unleashing fury in eye-watering and ear-bleeding fashion. It’s utter carnage, but appealing carnage as it is still a track with focus. Carnifex have gone the deliberate route here, and it pays off in seriously head banging style.
