Single Slam: Employed to Serve, Coilguns, Ritual Error, and Call Me Amour!
Today’s single slam features Employed to Serve, Coilguns, Ritual Error, and Call Me Amour. You can read our thoughts about the latest singles from these bands below.
Employed to Serve – Absolute Onslaught (Feat. Cabal)
Employed To Serve have released their new single ‘Absolute Onslaught’ featuring Andreas Bjulver from Cabal. The new track comes ahead of their co-headline UK/EU tour.
Says Employed to Serve’s Justine Jones:
This track is a straight up rager, purely designed to get that circle pit moving on our upcoming run with Cabal. When we first discussed collaborating with our Danish friends, I knew immediately that this was the track we should get Andreas on, and he absolutely crushed it!
This team up is producing some great music and this latest track from Employed to Serve certainly comes with Cabal influence. The kind that gives the track a bit more stomp. Although when it comes to Employed to Serve and their current output, intensity is the name of the game. What we have here is a ferocious sounding effort that comes with an eye-watering level of hyperactivity. It crushes, but it does so with infectious dynamism.
Coilguns – Platform Decay
Swiss noise-rock collective Coilguns have dropped a visualizer video for ‘Platform Decay’, the latest single from their forthcoming fifth studio album Everything We Love, We Destroy, due out November 6 via Humus Records.
The band comments:
Hopelessly witnessing the systemic enshittification of the internet made us want to celebrate the hackers and geeks that are fighting to keep the digital world independent. In times when reliable information has become a rare and questionable value, we’re constantly confronted with violent news, sometimes not knowing why we’re getting to read it, nor knowing how to determine its level of reality.
It’s beginning to look like this is going to be Coliguns’ most eccentric and eclectic album to date, and this latest electrifying effort puts an emphatic stamp on this statement. Even though it is a much more measured and melodic effort, it’s got a strong sense of drama and danger that tells everyone listening that things could change in an instant.
Ritual Error – Hung Up on A Clown
Taken from their sophomore effort, ‘Terminal with Benefits’, ‘Hung Up on A Clown’ is Ritual Error’s new single.
A noisy, excitable, and anarchic track, Ritual Error’s post hardcore sound is particularly raw here, but in a compelling way. The clarity, the focus, the trippy touches, and the sense of progression makes it quite addictive, and on multiple listens, the layers become even more pronounced. It’s a great listen.
Call Me Amour – The Way That You Are
Call Me Amour are set to release their final EP, marking the end of an important chapter for the band. The self-titled EP is out January 22nd, 2027, and to celebrate the announcement, the band have shared a brand new single and music video for ‘The Way That You Are’.
One chapter ends, another one starts, and in this track you can hear all that Call Me Amour are, while also hearing evolution. They’ve learned a lot over the years, and all of that is showcased in an experimental and creative alternative rock track that puts a smile on the face.
