Walls of Jericho – True Til’ Death
Detroit hardcore legends Walls of Jericho are set to make their long-awaited return with ‘System Error: Humanity’, their first new album in a decade, due 13th November 2026 via Napalm Records. The band now offer the new single, ‘True Til’ Death’.
Vocalist Candace Buckingham comments:
‘True Til Death’ is about facing the inner turmoil that once served you as a way to survive, and learning to turn it into fuel. It’s choosing positive aggression over hopelessness, using that pain to keep fighting. Musically, it hits with heavy breakdowns and straightforward, driving hardcore riffs that carry that fight forward.
Their output is so strong at the moment and I think it’s safe to say that this new album isn’t going to disappoint anyone, least of all fans of intense and infectious hardcore heaviness. It’s an uplifting, two-step encouraging banger with bundles of groove. I dig it.
Boss Keloid – Pedestal
Boss Keloid have released ‘Pedestal’, their second new single from their highly anticipated forthcoming studio album ‘Float & Aperture’.
Says the band:
The lyrics to Pedestal explore both the positive and negative sides of isolation, as well as its causes and effects. The song also contains a 10 year old riff from the Keloid archive we finally found a way to use properly. Enjoy!
The second single to come from Boss Keloid’s new album is just as elastic as what came before. That might feel like a given, if you know this band, but that doesn’t mean we’re not hearing fresh ideas. Filled with dreamy power, eccentric energy, off-kilter harmonies, and a sense of confusion that fits the lyrical tone and content nicely, this is a deep, smart, and engaging listen.
Windowhead – You Will Never Be Erased
Brighton-based post-hardcore/shoegaze quartet Windowhead have released their latest single ‘You Will Never Be Erased’.
I do like what Windowhead create, especially as post hardcore and shoegaze sit so comfortably together, and they’re very adept at making the combo more infectious than most. A dramatic vein runs through things, the overall tone being quite mellow, but odd melodies and prominent bass make if sound like so much more. It’s really listenable and very replayable.
Saor – The Awakening MMXXVI
Saor, the one-man Scottish atmospheric black metal project of Andy Marshall, have released ‘The Awakening MMXXVI’, the second single from Caledonia. The track is a re-recording of a song first heard on 2014’s Aura, and follows lead single ‘Carved in Stone MMXXVI’ ahead of an album revisiting five songs from Saor’s first three records.
I really love this. Saor isn’t replacing these tracks, rather, updating them and showcasing just how far things have come. The Awakening is an epic beast of a track, filled with layers of Caledonian folk melody and raging blackened metal, and this updated version gives everything more room to breathe.
Tayne x God Alone – I End
Industrial noise pop band, Tayne have teamed up with dance infused math/noise rock band, God Alone and the result is ‘I End’.
Tayne says:
We are stoked to unleash this mega colab “I END” with our buds God Alone. I think it showcases some of the weirdest noisy and aggressive “dance” tracks to come out of Ireland. When we started out years back, both bands got to play together in Ireland and it’s been a joy to see them dominate. We’ve always loved what they did live and on record so it was great to finally be able to come together on this track and combine the best of what both bands have to offer. Happy HONKiN!
God Alone Adds:
We’ve been best buddies with Tayne since we played a warehouse in Galway at Christmastime 2018 together. Everything they touch is gold and we’re truly honoured and grateful for the banger they’ve made from our song. We hope everyone likes it as much as we do!
Pure infectious energy. Tayne’s dreamy, pop-infused noise combined with God Alone’s belligerent dance-driven power is quite something. This is a floor-filler through and through, somewhat dangerous sounding, and with a very cool ambient drop that allows the opportunity to take a deep breath before the energy is brought back up in riotous fashion.
Calvaria – Ghost
Bristol based alternative metal band Calvaria have released their brand-new single, ‘Ghost’.
Explains the band:
Ghost is probably as emotionally raw as we’ve gotten as a band so far. It’s about carrying the weight of a memory or a person, from your past that still haunts you and navigating the complex feelings and emotions surrounding the situation, almost in a sense of learning how to grieve but being unable to fully let go as the ‘Ghost’ is always there.
A powerful and melodramatic effort that oozes emotion, Calvaria dig deep, baring their souls, and connecting to the listener on a whole new level. It’s an impressively infectious effort with tons of alternative life. The kind that has more widespread appeal.
Darkest Hour – Warrior
Metalcore pioneers Darkest Hour have released their new single and video, ‘Warrior’, today. This is the second single from the band’s forthcoming album, Suffer Divine, out on 30th October via MNRK Heavy.
Guitarist Mike Schleibaum comments:
This song showcases our melodic death metal tendencies with a bit of a modern twist. It draws you deep into a fresh yet familiar DH sound. I love the progressiveness of Nico’s solo, the intricacy of Travis’ drum work, Deal’s devastating low end, John’s vocal delivery, and lyrical density. This album is full of both rage and technicality. It’s furious with focused intent, and this song is a perfect example of that in action.
Vocalist John Henry adds:
Lyrically, this song is meant to reach out to the intrapersonal warrior. The internal struggle is often the most important battle we ever fight. This song touches on the idea of gaining control of your thoughts, actions, and purpose. It’s meant to be fuel for action.
A Darkest Hour special, as well as a metalcore special, this new track isn’t exactly complex, but it is likable. The icons turning back the clock to (roughly) the mid-noughties and doing it with the confidence and authenticity of a band that was making music back then. Close your eyes, and it is unmistakable who this is. Consistently strong.
Resolve – Godtier
French heavyweights Resolve have released their new single ‘Godtier’, the second single taken from the recently announced new album, ‘Spread My Ashes into Space’, set for release on January 15th, 2027 via Arising Empire.
Speaking of the new single, vocalist Anthony Diliberto shares:
While a lot of the Spread My Ashes Into Space ideas and concepts are about wanting to step back and escape, Godtier could be almost the polar opposite. It’s about willingly flying straight into the fire. The lyrics are telling this story of a character steering a spaceship into a dying sun, but the core meaning of this is deeply human. It’s about chasing a thrill that you know is eventually going to break you.
Whether it’s the physical and mental toll of what we do, or simply pouring every ounce of yourself into a passion, you’re eventually reminded that pushing yourself to the absolute limit comes with its price. You know the crash that follows the euphoria is going to hurt. But there is an undeniable, almost addictive beauty in experiencing that level of intensity.
Instead of fearing the inevitable collapse, this track is about embracing it. It’s that moment where you stop fighting the exhaustion, look at the vibrant chaos around you, and decide the rush is simply worth the damage. It’s a surrender to the beauty of not always being in control.
Expanding on their modern post-hardcore, alternative metal sound, Resolve deliver one of their finest tracks to date here. A band that has been getting more and more confident and here it reaches an epic peak. Not just because it is so infectious, dramatic, and strong, but because it is chaotic and heavy. The final breakdown is very good.
Beyond Extinction – The Estuary
Essex deathcore band, Beyond Extinction, have released their new single ‘The Estuary’. Taken from their upcoming EP, ‘Three Swords’, the track continues in the vein of unveiling Essex’s dark history, this time giving exposure to the serene yet deadly bodies of water throughout Essex that’ve been responsible for multiple disappearances and violent deaths across the centuries, including the Blackwater Estuary, River Thames, River Colne, River Crouch and more.
On the inspiration of the EP and new track, vocalist Jasper Harmer explains:
The Three Swords EP is about dark roots and ugly truths, but it’s also about showing that musically, we are not here to mess about. ‘The Estuary’ is an encapsulation of the Beyond Extinction brand of Deathcore which we’ve been working on for a long time. Hammer and anvil classic breakdowns with huge, expansive double-downtuned riffs that are signature to our sound. The resurgence of some of the deathcore originals has been a welcome trend in the backdrop of a saturated heavy scene, so consider this our contribution, Essex death flavour.
That is three for three. Beyond Extinction are on fire right now, and it is undeniable now that this new EP is special. This track isn’t changing up the deathcore formula, but it is telling an interesting story and showing that the band’s approach can vary. There’s a darkness that flows out of this track, washing away everything that stands in its path.
Alien Ant Farm – Gaslighter
Multi-platinum rock band Alien Ant Farm have released their new single and official music video, ‘Gaslighter’, via Judge & Jury Records. The track will appear on the band’s new album and arrives as Alien Ant Farm prepare to take their latest music to audiences around the world, with upcoming tour dates including an appearance at Sick New World and performances across the UK and Ireland.
‘Gaslighter’ takes aim at the liars, manipulators, and toxic relationships that can leave lasting scars. Alien Ant Farm turn the subject matter into a powerful anthem that builds toward a hopeful resolution.
Vocalist Dryden Mitchell explains:
With hints of Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine, we wrote a razor-edged gem that calls out the liars and manipulators in our lives. Do the ones we love the most end up burning us all in the end? This anthem rocks steadily and races toward a hopeful resolution. Light the fuses and burn all the liars!
The song initially started out as a play on words, about how liars always speak in code. Native American service members who used their traditional tribal languages to send secret, unbreakable tactical messages during World War I and World War II. I found that interesting. And getting information from a lying loved one almost felt like this. Then Howard really liked “Gaslighter” over “Code Talker.” Str8 to the point. I went back in and honed the lyric to cut to the quick and hopefully reach as many people as possible, as I’m sure everyone has dealt with a gaslighter. Telling you you’re crazy, when you know the truth.
A short and sharp pessimistic effort that comes with bundles of alternative rock power, big sounding riffs, and a solid chorus that gets stuck in the head. Even the most anti-Alien Ant Farm listener will find themselves drawn in by what it offers. It’s cool to hear them making compelling and relevant music still.
thrown – unwanted
Swedish heavyweights thrown return with their brand-new single ‘unwanted’, the latest track from their highly anticipated second album, ‘UNWANTED’, out 6th November via Arising Empire.
Barley two minutes of thrown mayhem, which is exactly how we like it. A crunchy, creative, and chaotic listen that goes hard. It’s as straight-forward as that, and comes with a measured breakdown that will likely bloody noses and break teeth when it hits live.
Undeath – Arterial Bombardment
New York-based death metal corpse grinders Undeath share their Relapse debut single ‘Arterial Bombardment’.
Undeath Frontman Alex Sason comments:
Today it’s our pleasure to share ‘Arterial Bombardment’ with you. After signing with Relapse we knew we had to come out swinging, and a track full of non-stop riffing, blasting, death metal sickness seems like the perfect way to do so. Our bassist Tommy Wall masterminded this song, the mad genius Colin Marston engineered, mixed and mastered it, and we believe it serves as an excellent appetizer for what’s to come from this next chapter of UNDEATH.
We hope you dig what you hear and we can’t wait to show you what else we’ve got in store for all of you.
They’ve gone quite old-school here, and I am not complaining. Undeath’s new single is a riff-focused, aggressive, and harsh sounding slice of death metal. Filled with vitriolic power, the no-nonsense approach is appealing, especially if extreme metal is your jam. It’s mine, so I find this to be a mighty head banger overall.
Foxhaunt – Absolution
Foxhaunt, the Leeds alt-rock / metalcore band, have released their new single ‘Absolution’.
The band says:
Absolution is about the weight of living in a world shaped by people in power who seem completely detached from the consequences of their decisions. It comes from the frustration of watching greed, self-interest and a lack of compassion take priority over the lives of the people they’re supposed to serve.
The chorus plays with the idea of judgement and a power greater than any position of authority. However untouchable these people might seem in this life, there’s something strangely comforting in the thought that one day they may have to answer for the damage they’ve caused. In the end, no amount of power can guarantee forgiveness and there may be no absolution waiting for them.
A huge sounding and hardy anthem that continues a heartwarming and smile-inducing trend with this band. Which is them releasing consistent quality tracks that vary up the alternative rock and metal formula nicely. It’s catchy, filled with excitable passion, and plenty of potent heaviness. I dig it.
Bokassa – Cop Out
Bokassa returns with new single ‘Cop Out’. A non apologetic track inspired by everything from hearing protest songs with lyrics so broad that they’ll apply to all sides, to seeing bands that should’ve called it quits years ago – still squeezing out money from fans.
Says vocalist Jørn Kaarstad:
It’s about quitting while you’re ahead, before you become something you despise. Before you start doing expensive VIP Meet & Greets, before you write lyrics that are just empty buzz words, before you start doing Tik Tok-dance videos to sell more tickets. I don’t wanna spend my time coming up with new ways to get views on social media, when I know that there are still different pizzas out there I haven’t tried yet.
There are very few bands who can put a smile on my face in quite the way that Bokassa do, and once again, the rockers come out swinging with a high-powered, groovy and riffy head banger and body shaker. You’d have to be one miserable git to not find this enjoyable.
HANABIE. – Bari Bari Buddy
Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, dynamic Harajuku-core sensation HANABIE. have released their latest offering, ‘Bari Bari Buddy’.
Written by vocalist Yukina and guitarist/vocalist Matsuri, the single serves as the ending theme song for the upcoming anime series ‘Reincarnated as a Sword II’. Speaking about the song, the band shared:
We’ve created an epic, larger-than-life song that perfectly captures Fran and Teacher’s grand adventure! The chorus is something everyone can sing along to, so I hope you’ll join us and get hyped together.
And through this series, I hope we can all become totally badass Buddies!
HANABIE. fans can also look forward to the band’s upcoming new album UMAMI, out on Wednesday 2nd December.
I do like HANABIE. and this new track is one of my favourites that they’ve released so far. Pure bubble-gum anime pop blended with brassy and aggressive modern metal. It shouldn’t work, but it does, and I can’t help but love it. I don’t need to know anything about the show, I just know this is a dynamic and appealing banger.
Trivium – Crown of the Grave
GRAMMY-nominated heavyweights Trivium have announced their new album Crown in the Grave. It arrives November 20 through Roadrunner Records and the title track is out now.
I think Trivium have found their sound sweet spot, and it sort of sits in between the In Waves, Vengeance Falls, and Silence in the Snow segment of their career. With some nods to Shogun and the classic record, Ascendancy. Seemingly more comfortable in their skins today than ever, the result has been fruitful and once again, they have released a track that hits hard. A powerful head banger with melodic layers, crunchy riffs, a grander chorus, and more. No major surprises, just Trivium being Trivium, and there’s never anything to complain about with that.
Corde Oblique – Senza Vento
Italian progressive rock neofolk band Corde Oblique have premiered their new single and video ‘Senza Vento’, a haunting meditation on lost idealism, generational change and what can still be carried from one generation to the next.
The song is taken from Corde Oblique’s forthcoming tenth album, ‘All’ombra dei fanciulli in fiore’, due on 27 November 2026 via Dark Vinyl.
A haunting slice of esoteric beauty. Music like this is hard to sum up because it’s all about feeling. One person might come away changed by it; another might not care in the slightest. The experience of listening to it requires patience, and a willingness to be immersed. Do that, and you’ll find yourself gripped by it.
Pretty Addicted – HYSTERICAL (feat. Sarah Jezebel Deva)
Pretty Addicted unleash ‘HYSTERICAL’, the latest single (following ROT and MOCK) from their newly reinvented Blackened Rave era, featuring renowned black metal vocalist Sarah Jezebel Deva.
Pretty Addicted’s Vicious Precious calls upon women to feel the rage of their ancestors, become warriors, sorceresses, and sisters.
‘Hysteria’ was a diagnosis; a label given to loud women, women who defied the status quo and refused to be silenced. Locked away in mental institutions and accused of being ‘emotional’ or ‘dramatic’, Pretty Addicted are reclaiming the word used to subjugate and diminish these women, giving it new meaning, new strength, and taking an oath to let the suffering of women of old drive us.
Their strength lives in the dirt, the earth, the ashes and the blood.
The old hysteria calls you.
Making the most unique music, and the most polarising, Pretty Addicted are an astonishing band and a track like this sums them up perfectly. Abrasive, intense, and so clever. Black metal vocals, rave energy and EDM beats, and the iconic Sarah Jezebel Deva guesting, it’s an impressive and attention grabbing effort.
Battlesnake – Bog Bringer
Australian heavy metal outfit Battlesnake have announced their new album, ‘Bogpocalypse and the Annihilation of Lucifer’, set for release 19th February 2027, with the album announcement accompanied by the release of the record’s third single, ‘Bog Bringer’.
A fun and story-driven frolic into weird worlds, it’s Battlesnake and this new track is undeniably them. Filled with punchy riffs, danceable groove, and head banging energy, the entire thing is capped off with an anthemic chorus that will go down very well in the live environment.
Grief Ritual – Abyssal Condition (feat. Austin Hayes of Heavy//Hitter)
Grief Ritual announce their forthcoming EP ‘Survive Out of Spite’, out 12th March 2027 via Church Road Records. To give fans a taste of what’s to come, the band have just released the lead video single ‘Abyssal Condition’, featuring Austin Hayes of Florida’s Heavy//Hitter.
Says Grief Ritual:
‘Abyssal Condition’ laments the hypocrisy of war and the arms trade. Exploring how a criminal class of billionaire have brought democracy, and manufactured consent for atrocity, within an economic system – capitalism – that needs human suffering to function.
Welcome back Grief Ritual, it has been far too long since their ugly, abrasive, and addictive brand of chaos has caused me neck ache. The good news is that I needed an icepack after only hearing this hefty heavyweight banger once. It’s an absolute beast of a track, yet what really makes it special is the way in which the pace switches so effortlessly, and the strong vein of haunting atmosphere that runs through the entire thing.
TX2 – Witch Hunt
Colorado alternative trailblazer TX2 has released the new single ‘Witch Hunt’, a defiant response to online bullying and its lasting impact. The follow-up to their recent EP, We’re Going to Hell for This, the track arrives after the band’s biggest summer so far, which included festival performances at Download Festival, Rock am Ring, Louder Than Life and many more.
‘Witch Hunt’ is deeply personal to vocalist Evan Thomas, who has been bullied since childhood and has faced more of it online as the band’s profile has grown. The song is both a statement and a rallying cry for anyone who has been on the receiving end.
Evan Thomas of TX2 shares:
I’ve been bullied since I was a kid, and now I get bullied for a living. I am here to prove a point not only about how easy it is for people to hide behind their phones and cyberbully others in the age of social media, but also the lasting psychological impact it has on people. I want to empower listeners who are experiencing bullying to persevere and fight through it. Find mental health resources that can help you. No one can stop us. We keep going and stand up for the outcasts and those who relate.
I’m a fan, and really do believe that TX2 is on course to be one of the biggest bands in the alternative scene, and tracks like this only confirms that. A track that is more than just ‘clapping back’, it’s an anthem for all those who feel the same, have been treated the same, and need to hear someone with a platform talk about it from a modern point of view. It does help that it’s bloody infectious too.
Down – The Myth
‘The Myth’ is the latest single from American heavy metal icons Down. The track comes off the band’s long-awaited new studio album, Volume V, set for release on 20th November via Nuclear Blast Records.
So, what does a modern Down song sound like? Not to far removed from a classic Down song as it goes. Riff-driven, tons of groovy power, and with a thin layer of swampy psych and Sabbath worship, it’s a more mature Down, but Down nonetheless.
