Modern deathcore unit Cabal have released their new single ‘Hurt Me’ (ft. Justine Jones of Employed to Serve). This new single comes ahead of their UK/EU co-headline tour later this year.

Says Cabal:

‘Hurt Me’ is about seeking out toxic relationships and destructive situations just to feel something, even when you know they’re hurting you. The song dives into that vicious cycle of craving pain when feeling nothing seems worse. It features our Justine Jones from Employed To Serve, who adds another layer of visceral desperation to the track with heir piercing shrieks.

Regicide – Strength in Numbers

East Anglian thrash/groove metallers Regicide have unleashed their new single, ‘Strength in Numbers’, the first taste of their eagerly awaited second album.

Get those neck muscles warmed up, they’re going to be working hard over the five-ish minutes of Regicide’s new single. A frenzied explosion of thrash and groove that gets the blood pumping noisily in the veins, From the start, it’s a wild ride and there is no let-up. Anyone who loves metal to have some real bite, while also having some anthemic aspects, will come away pleased.

Fortune Teller – Familiar

A force where epic metal, melody and powerful storytelling collide, Fortune Teller return with ‘Familiar’. Inspired by the image of a witch’s familiar – a bound creature forced into servitude – the song follows a similar figure finally breaking away, rejecting its chains and making a desperate attempt to rebuild what was once there.

A grand showcase of melodic might and metal, Fortune Teller’s exciting sound comes from a familiar place, but stands out by not being one thing or the other. I think the words that come to mind when listening to a vibrant epic with potent head banging touches like this is ‘crowd pleasing’.

A Killer’s Confession – Roses

A Killer’s Confession have returned with ‘Roses,’ the new single from the band’s forthcoming sixth studio album, ‘Victim 3’, due 13th November via MNRK Heavy.

Vocalist Waylon Reavis:

‘Roses’ was written from a point of view of where everything that you have done was in vain. We’ve all been to that point of feeling unappreciated, but I feel like roses is a statement of it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you and only you know why you did it. In the end, never look for a pat on the back, because you’ll never get the acknowledgment that you’re seeking. There will be no roses on my grave.

A Killer’s Confession excel at keeping the listener on their toes, and this latest track shows why. One of the band’s more melodically charged efforts, twisting modern metalcore into something else. It’s impressively infectious, and really listenable, but has these intense bursts of noise, growling vocals, and a stronger sense of feral energy. The balance is perfect.
