Horror Short Review: That’s Not Me (2026)
I really want to tell you that That’s Not Me is a brilliant horror short that delivers effective frights in less than two minutes, because it does. At least until AI takes over and makes something scary in something laughable.
I don’t get it. The Noctuary has talent, and those involved do a really good job of building anticipation and making things feel tense, but by resorting to AI ‘scary face’ all the good work is undone.
A simple story about a woman’s reflection taking on a life of its own is all that was needed. It was genuinely unnerving up until the last 30-odd seconds. Very disappointing.
