News: French thrash-metal practioners Dead Tree Seeds ‘Push The Button’ again with 2020’s album digital re-release.

French thrashers Dead Tree Seeds have been digging back through their catalogue, with their 2020 album now receiving a digital re-release and available to stream on Bandcamp and all major digital platforms.

Formed in 2009, Dead Tree Seeds have spent more than fifteen years establishing themselves within the French thrash metal scene. Drawing influence from the likes of Slayer, Testament and Kreator, the band have developed their own take on the genre across several releases, while sharing stages with bands including Angelus Apatrida, No Return and Nervosa.

Originally released in 2020, the album represents an important point in the band’s development. It combines the raw aggression and breakneck energy of old-school thrash with sharper songwriting, greater technical precision and a more powerful production. Featuring the vocals of Franck Le Hard, it captures Dead Tree Seeds at a point between their early foundations and the sound they would continue to develop over the following years.

That evolution would continue with the 2022 EP Back To The Seeds, which saw the band reconnect more explicitly with their roots, before 2024’s Toxic Thoughts pushed things forward once again. Across those releases, Dead Tree Seeds have continued to refine a balance of speed, aggression, melody and technicality.

Following the recent reissues of Toxic Thoughts and Back To The Seeds, this latest release gives listeners another opportunity to revisit a key chapter in the band’s history. Fast, fierce and uncompromisingly thrash, Dead Tree Seeds’ 2020 album is back in circulation.

Post apocalyptic is my jam and I always have a book on the go and have for decades now. From a metal perspective, age has softened my inadequacies and I now operate with an open mind, loving many bands from many sub genres but having a particular admiration for the UK underground scene.
