Horror Short Review: Take A Seat (2026)

Directed by Jeremie Beliveau and Maxence Vigneault, Take A Seat is a stylish horror that blends the supernatural with surrealism. The result being something quite memorable.

The story is really simple; a young man spies a chair at the side of the road and decides to take it home. A decision that he will come to regret.

Thanks to the charming filming style, the use of black and white visuals, and a dreamlike tone, the ‘haunted chair’ angle of Take A Seat feels like so much more. It showcases imagination and a certain amount of daring as it plays out in quite an abstract way. I found myself almost hypnotised by it, and left wondering what more could be told by these creators if they had the time and budget.
